Catholic Church Serving West Seattle Washington

Outreach Services and Organizations

West Seattle Community Meal held monthly at OLG:

The next meal will be held on June 24, 2007

This meal is a cooperative effort of West Seattle Churches to feed low income, elderly, or anyone in need, in our area. We provide the space and other church communities sign up to cook and serve the meal so that no one community bears all the burden of this most necessary and helpful ministry. The meals are always on Sunday afternoons from 1-3 in the Parish Hall, which is located in the basement of the School, with the entrance on 34th S.W.

St. Vincent de Paul Society:
St. Vincent de Paul Ministry delivers food to the needy within our parish boundaries twice a week. They also assist with other needs as they are able.

Cabrini Ministers:
Cabrini Ministers visit the sick and homebound and take communion to them. They also provide listening and relief for family members.

Knights Of Columbus:
The Knights are a fraternal organization of men who assist the parish in various ways. They meet every first Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the De Mazenod Room.

Over 65 Dinner:
Three times a year, Fall, Winter, and Spring, a full dinner is prepared by volunteers and served to Seniors in the area. The day includes entertainment and door prizes.

Christmas Gifts for the Needy:
Each holiday season the parish selects three organizations to donate items to for their Christmas needs.

Social Action Group:
Parishioners who wish to raise awareness and concern for others and who work to help others in situations of need. They seek to combine efforts with other West Seattle faith communities on projects such as Habitat for Humanity; and Treehouse collections for foster children.
