Confirmation Preparation
The Celebration of a Marriage Liturgy
(an additional, optional element)
Marriage in the church is celebrated when the couple wishes to begin their married life with the sacramental blessing of the Church. The candidate would be involved in meeting with Fr. Jack and the couple as they plan and prepare for the celebration of their marriage liturgy. The candidate might involve themselves in the experience in a number of ways:
Assist at the wedding liturgy by
- Helping with preparations
- Acolyte
- Lector
- Greeter
- arrange other possibilities that are mutually agreeable
After their involvement in the sacramental experience the candidate is asked to reflect on it and record their reflection in any medium the candidate chooses, such as:
- Writing or journaling
- Music
- Poetry
- Art
This reflection is then shared at a group meeting with sponsors, other candidates, Fr. Jack and Peg.
